England will assess the extent of Liam Plunkett’s hamstring injury on Monday

England will assess the extent of the left hamstring injury that bowler Liam Plunkett picked up during their 16-run victory over Australia in the third one-day international at the SCG on Sunday.

The Yorkshire seamer bowled just eight balls before being forced off the field as the tourists defended 302 to win the five-match series with two games to spare.

Jos Buttler had hit his fifth ODI century and shared an unbroken century stand with Chris Woakes to help the away side post a daunting 302-6.

Plunkett, who has been blogging for Sky Sports during this ODI series, picked up his 100th ODI wicket during the second match in Brisbane when he took 1-43 in England’s four-wicket win.
