Glasgow Warriors flanker Matt Smith has signed a new two-year deal to keep him at Scotstoun Stadium until May 2020.
The 21-year-old has made 15 appearances for the Guinness PRO14 side, scoring two tries.
He said: “I’m chuffed to have signed on, I’ve enjoyed my time at Glasgow so far and I’m delighted to be continuing.
“The more games I’ve played the more I’ve grown in confidence. I’ve been really lucky to have the opportunity to work with some amazing players.
“So far my highlight has been playing in the European Rugby Champions Cup. I loved expressing myself on the biggest stage and I can’t wait for more of that over the next two years.”
Assistant coach Jonathan Humphreys added: “We’ve been really impressed with Matt. He’s mobile and aggressive and plays the game the way we want to play it.
“He has the potential to be outstanding and we’re looking forward to watching him develop and improve over the next two years.”

Glasgow are enjoying a successful campaign in the PRO14 and currently top Conference A with 12 wins from 14 matches.
However their form in the European Champions Cup was less positive and they exited the competition having finished bottom of Pool 3.
Smith is the second Warriors player to extend his deal in recent days, following scrum-half George Horne’s decision to commit to the club until May 2019.
